The Legal Advice Service (LAS) was set up in 1993. It has gradually expanded its work and now is one of the main advice agencies in the Shoreditch area of Hackney, London.

We provide FREE, independent, impartial and confidential advice in all areas of social welfare, including general and specialist casework, benefits, debt, housing, immigration, employment, consumer and education issues.

As a legal advice service, we have developed particular expertise in housing benefits and housing possession cases representing clients in court to obtain adjournments or suspended possession orders.

In social security tribunals, we have represented clients who have appealed against certain issues like refusal or overpayment of welfare benefits.

Free open advice session : Mondays & Thursdays 10:30am-12:30pm.
At other times it is open to pre-booked clients.
